ABSTRACT

The pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), for which there does not appear to be an approved cure, the primary treatment options consist of non-pharmacological preventive measures and supportive treatment that are aimed at halting the progression of the disease. Nuclear factor kappa B (NFkB) presents a promising therapeutic opportunity to mitigate COVID-19-induced cytokine storm and reduce the risk of severe morbidity and mortality resulting from the disease. However, the effective clinical application of NFkB modulators in COVID-19 is hampered by a number of factors that must be taken into consideration. This paper therefore explored the modulation of the NFB pathway as a potential strategy to mitigate the severe morbidity and mortality caused by COVID-19. The paper also discusses the factors that form the barrier, and it offers potential solutions to the various limitations that may impede the clinical use of NFkB modulators against COVID-19. This paper revealed and identified three key potential solutions for the future clinical use of NFkB modulators against COVID-19. These solutions are pulmonary tissue-specific NFkB blockade, agents that target common regulatory proteins of both canonical and non-canonical NFkB pathways, and monitoring clinical indicators of hyperinflammation and cytokine storm in COVID-19 prior to using NFkB modulators.

ABSTRACT

Intertrochanteric fracture is a prevalent condition among older adults, and it is becoming more so as the population is aging. A 52-year-old man was reported to the hospital with symptoms of pain and swelling in the right hip since the morning. The patient reported a history of unexpected slips and falls in the morning. An X-ray was taken of both hips, and an intertrochanteric fracture was identified. After one month post-fracture, a dynamic hip screw (DHS) was used to perform open reduction internal fixation (ORIF). Early mobility, appropriate lower limb strength, pain reduction, and quality of life are all significant determinants. As evidenced by statistically significant improvements in exercise capacity and well-being, the intertrochanteric fracture rehabilitation program is beneficial. This case study represents a comprehensive rehabilitation program for people who have had post-fracture surgery.

ABSTRACT

The local dynamics with different topological classifications, bifurcation analysis and chaos control in a discrete-time COVID-19 epidemic model are investigated in the interior of $ \mathbb{R}_+^3 $. It is proved that discrete-time COVID-19 epidemic model has boundary equilibrium solution for all involved parameters, but it has an interior equilibrium solution under definite parametric condition. Then by linear stability theory, local dynamics with different topological classifications are investigated about boundary and interior equilibrium solutions of the discrete-time COVID-19 epidemic model. Further for the discrete-time COVID-19 epidemic model, existence of periodic points and convergence rate are also investigated. It is also investigated the existence of possible bifurcations about boundary and interior equilibrium solutions, and proved that there exists no flip bifurcation about boundary equilibrium solution. Moreover, it is proved that about interior equilibrium solution there exists hopf and flip bifurcations, and we have studied these bifurcations by utilizing explicit criterion. Next by feedback control strategy, chaos in the discrete COVID-19 epidemic model is also explored. Finally numerically verified theoretical results.
